Describe an Experience

Last year, we were freshman that just got in to a new environment, many things to learn and many things to adjust. At that time, the sophomores prepared a welcome camp for us. They designed many activities and games for us, so that we can not only have fun but also be more close to our classmates and to others in our own department. It was a big thing that they had prepared for very long time, and we had a really fun and great time. However, after a year, we are in our sophomore year now. Therefore, it is our turn to take over this task.

In order to hold this welcome camp for the freshman, we began preparing since three months age, and some of us even longer. We have to spare most of our free time learning dancing, short drama, singing, and so on, which is to perform for them. Moreover, a lot of art work should be done. Around 50 workers involved in this camp spent almost every weekend together. We complained about no time to go home, no time to study, no time to our own thing. However, we still show up in every preparation, cause all we need is trying to make this camp more perfect, and all we want is hoping to make this camp more successful.

Finally, the day came. We all woke up early, tired but excited. Then we took freshman to our destination, and got started. We lead them to do every activity we’ve planned, from playing games to watching shows; and took care of them in any aspect, from dinning to living. We used up all our energy play with them, run with them, and do our best to please them. Although our schedule had been out of order for some reason, and the sudden rain had mess up a little of our plan, that was not big deal. We finish the two day camp at last, successfully.

No matter how exhausted we were, the moment you hear the freshmen say the camp is great, is fun; the moment they say thank you to you, all the efforts worth. We did it! That is what we’d be working so hard for, isn’t it. After the experience of holding this camp, the relationship between the sophomores gets much closer. And we hold such a big activity all by ourselves successful, that’s a really special experience that I will never forget.

  1. Your composition reads pretty smoothly and you do get through a good time in the welcome camp. Through your words, I can understand how much effort you all put in it and how you look forward to its coming. I can imagine the feeling when one sees the hard work gradually shaped into a materialized display. How joyful it would be!! However, your article is a little bit flat and it lacks a so-called conflict and reflection. Hope you can work on it.

  2. Your article arose my memory of the camp. I remember I did not sleep well at that time. But as a team leader, you were more tired. You really did a good job. I think that you can use more adjectives to describe whole article that can let it more interesting.

  3. First, you really recall my memories of last year's camp, Peggy. I think maybe you can narrate more about which part of the camp that impressed you the most last year. Also, you can talk about the detail when you practiced dancing, such as the steps or the difficulties you encountered. About the third paragraph, still, you can describe more details on those two days. You took care of those frshmen...and so on
    All in all,,,,^_<
